Honey, Sage & Goats Cheese Figs

Figs. The epitome of suggestive textured fruits. To tear open a ripe fig with your fingers and indulge in the succulent delicate flavors and intricate enticing feeling on your tongue, must be one of the most sensual eating experiences one can have with a single fruit.

Contended as the original forbidden fruit which Eve plucked from the Garden of Eden, these plump delectables are also full of essential minerals like iron to store your energy, and potassium which will boost your nervous system, to make the senses at their height.

Now, fruit and cheese is without saying a sensational experience with it’s pungent sweet-savory spectrum, and this particular combination is of my favorites. The creamy goats cheese matches the delicacy of the figs, the spice from the black pepper adds a little kick, the soft smokey sage is a delight to feel the added slight crunch, and finally the sticky, butter honey, to mop up with your figs and fingers…

To prepare for 2 people:

(CLICK THE LINKED INGREDIENTS FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THEIR APHRODISIACAL PROPERTIES…)

  • 6 Figs
  • 1/4 cup Chévre Goats cheese
  • 3 tbsp salted Butter
  • 3 tbsp good quality Honey
  • 12 Sage Leaves
  • Cracked Black Pepper

Slice your figs in half and arrange on a plate or chopping board. Heat a small frying pan on a low-medium flame, and the butter. Once melted, add the sage leaves and spread out across surface area. Cook for roughly 3-4 minutes, or until the sage leaves are crisp, and the butter is slightly browned. Remove pan from heat and remove the sage. Place elegantly atop your figs. While the butter in the pan is still hot, add the honey and whisk a little until a gleaming syrupy consistency. Drizzle over the dish and finish with a sprinkling of fresh cracked pepper.

To seduce any palate and satiate any heart.
